Cheese and chocolate fondue what more could you want? If you are looking for a unique dining experience, look no further than The Melting Pot.

The Melting Pot is a fondue-style restaurant, where guests can enjoy several different dishes, all of which are cooked with a fondue. Fondue is a type of cooking style, consisting of either broth, melted cheese, or chocolate. Each table is equipped with a fondue station, and each group at the table gets to choose a type of cheese for the appetizer, a broth to cook the meat in for the entree, and a chocolate for dessert. This is all accompanied by a side salad of your choice.

The beauty of it is that you can pick and choose which courses you want, making for the best personal dining experience. When I visited The Melting Pot, I got all four courses.

The first part of the meal was the cheese fondue. It came with bread, carrots, apples, and broccoli to dip into the cheese. My table got the Wisconsin cheese option, which is a fancy cheddar cheese with a hint of spice. The little spice that the cheese had in it was the best part, as it added a tang to the flavor. My favorite things to dip into the cheese were carrots and bread, as they both complemented the cheese very well.

The second part of the meal was the salad. I chose the caesar salad option that included lettuce, caesar dressing, croutons, parmesan cheese, and pine nuts. The pine nuts were sweet and added a new element to the typical caesar salad. Overall, the salad was good, but definitely not the most exciting part of the whole meal.

The third course was the broth. Your table chooses a broth, or as they call it “cooking style,” and then each person individually gets to choose a variety of different meats and seafoods to cook in it. I got the “Land and Sea” option, which consisted of sirloin steak, chicken, and shrimp. The sirloin and the chicken came raw and already chopped into perfect sizes, making it easy to dip into the fondue to cook.

This part was one of the most fun moments of the meal because instead of just dipping something into the fondue, you got to actually cook the meat or seafood. I got the Mojo broth which proved to be decent. While listed to have a citrus taste to it, I was never able to pick up the citrus upon eating it. The sirloin, shrimp, and chicken were all great, but they weren’t anything extraordinary.

The fourth and final course was the best part of the whole meal the chocolate fondue. There are several different types of chocolate to choose from, but my table chose the chocolate s’mores fondue, consisting of milk chocolate melted with graham crackers and marshmallow. Regardless of the fondue you buy, each comes with strawberries, blondies, bananas, pineapple, marshmallow treats, pound cake, and brownies to dip. I loved having all of these with the chocolate, and they all tasted great paired with the excellent fondue.

Overall, I loved The Melting Pot and would definitely go back. All of the food was really good, and it is a different and fun dining experience. It is unlike any other restaurant I have ever eaten at before. If you are looking for a unique dining experience, and if you love cheese and chocolate, make sure to check out the Melting Pot.
