International students share insights

November 24, 2014

When looking around the cafeteria, the herds of children filling the tables can be overwhelming. At closer look, it becomes obvious there are various groups of friends at each table, but a diverse group always seems to stand out: the international students.

There are currently 60 international students enrolled. Countries of origin range from Canada, China, Germany, Honduras, Italy, Liberia, Lithuania, Nigeria, Spain, and South Korea. There have also recently been students from Cameroon, Croatia, Japan, and Poland.

The wide range of international students provides many chances for students to interact and make friends with people from other cultures. This is the thought on the surface, and students of different cultures are often found mingling in the halls, but it is obvious there is some isolation.

It’s time to get beyond the concept of “international students” as a collective group, and get to know these fellow Patriots as individuals.
