The preview for this week’s episode of “Survivor: Nicaragua” lied to us. We were promised “Hurricane NaOnka” but instead we only got a slight breeze. Still, NaOnka’s senseless outrages are really getting out of hand.
La Flor (Younger Tribe) before the challenge
Alina is mad about NaOnka’s ridiculous hatred of Kelly B. and her prosthetic leg. NaOnka even threatens to throw it into the fire. Meanwhile, Brenda is smart enough to figure out the clue to the hidden immunity idol but stupid enough to tell NaOnka. Of course, NaOnka digs up the idol and keeps it hidden in her socks (the ones she stole from Jud) and gives absolutely no credit to Brenda, claiming she figured it out all on her own. When Kelly B and Alina go to look for the idol that they obviously won’t find, NaOnka decides to follow them and give them a hard time. She flat out tells Kelly B. that she doesn’t like her. Kelly decide to be the mature one in the situation and just let it roll of her back which seemed to irritate NaOnka even more.
E: At least this week she kept it verbal and decided not to physically attack anyone.
H: If I had figured out the clue for the idol, the last person I would ever tell would be NaOnka.
Espada (Older Tribe) before the challenge
Espada whines and complains about not having a leader and having to eat sea urchins because there is no other food. They put that on themselves, since they had a leader and food when Jimmy Johnson was still around. They nominate Tyrone as their new “leader,” although Jimmy T. says that he would like a chance.
E: It’s really a shame they voted off Jimmy Johnson last week. They wouldn’t be eating sea urchins if they hadn’t.
H: If Jimmy T. becomes their leader, this would be the worst idea ever. This would be the downfall of their tribe.
Challenge
All the tribe members, minus one, are blindfolded and sent out to collect 10 items. They need to listen to the one tribe member who isn’t blindfolded to know where to go to get the items. Once they get all the ten items, they need to find a key and open a chest to win. La Flor uses the medallion of power, so they only need to collect eight items. They probably shouldn’t even have used it because they blow Espada off of the playing field.
As a reward, La Flor receives fishing supplies, a tarp, and cooking supplies. Espada gets to have a date with Jeff at Tribal Council.
Tribal Council
Espada’s wannabe chief pretty much surrenders. After insisting that he should be the leader all throughout the episode, Jimmy T. admits defeat, saying, “I’ll step down.” He then surrenders: “I’ll just be a worker bee for this tribe, and a good worker bee—and nobody can deny that.” He buzzes his way off the tribe after a 5-3 vote between him and Dan.
H: Thank you, Espada, for seeing that Jimmy T, has been weakening the tribe all along. This is the one smart move that Espada has made in a while.
E: This time I agree with whom they voted off. He deserved it.
