Survivor: Nicaragua Finale 2010 – This is the final episode, which also, sadly, means the last blog by Elizabeth and Hilary.
Before Immunity Challenge
Chase says that if Fabio doesn’t win immunity, then he’s gone. Meanwhile, Fabio says that his plan is to win immunity. Well, isn’t everyone’s?
Immunity Challenge
For immunity, contestants need to answer questions about Nicaragua in order to solve a puzzle.
Fabio makes an amazing comeback to win the challenge. Maybe he isn’t the dumb blonde that everyone thinks he is.
Fabio thinks that Dan won’t get jury votes because he didn’t do anything to help out around the camp. He tells Dan that Chase, Sash and Holly are voting for him. Dan tells Fabio that they should try to vote Holly out. Sash and Chase tell Holly to vote for Dan.
Tribal Council 1
Dan reveals that he’s been telling people to take him to the final because he makes a comfortable living and really doesn’t need the million dollars so no one would vote for him. Dan says that Holly is a threat because she’s from a small town. What does that have to do with anything? Oh, never mind, we forgot that Dan was talking.
In the end, the tribe unanimously votes Dan out.
Final 4
Sash now says that if Fabio doesn’t win immunity, he’s going home.
In tree mail, the contestants receive a sword. This is the traditional ceremony of remembering all of their past tribe mates and paying tribute to them. They go through and collect the shields off of everyone’s extinguished torches. Everyone’s shield is red and decorated, except for NaOnka’s and Kelly’s, whose torches are gray with white X’s through them. That’s what they get for being quitters.
We feel that they should not have been allowed to be in the jury since they quit. The white X’s were not enough punishment for them.
Immunity Challenge
For the last time this season, immunity is up for grabs. For immunity, contestants have a sword with a table of coins next to them. They have to hold the swords and balance coins on the handle. They add a new coin at the producer Jeff Probst’s command. Fabio wins again.
Fabio is excited because now that he’s guaranteed a spot in the final three, he gets to watch the others scramble to make alliances.
When Fabio approaches Sash, Sash tells him that if he would’ve won, he would’ve taken Fabio with him. That’s funny actually because we watched Sash promise Chase and Holly two spots in the final three. Fabio isn’t stupid though. He knows what’s up.
Tribal #2
Fabio redeems himself again and votes Holly out. The final three are Fabio, Chase and Sash.
Last day before Final Tribal Council
The final three get food and a nice breakfast feast to share as congratulations for winning. Chase tells Fabio that he has it won. He is trying to get Fabio overconfident so that he thinks he won’t have to try to convince the jury. Sash says that for the first time he is going to be honest tonight.
Sure you are Sash, sure you are. We’d like to see that. You’re 39 days too late.
Chase, Fabio and Sash burn down their camp (on purpose this time) and head off to the final Tribal Council.
Final Tribal Council
Each of the three contestants gets to make an opening statement and say why he or she deserves the million dollars. Then each member of the jury gets to address the contestants.
Jane tells Sash that someone did a good job raising him as a gutter rat in New York City.
Then Fabio makes everyone cry (including NaOnka, who asked the question) when asked what he would do if he won the million and he replied that he would use it to take care of his family. How nice.
Survivor Finale in Los Angeles
Jeff reads the votes at the live finale in Los Angeles. The votes come down to a tie of Chase and Fabio with one vote left. In the end, Fabio wins the million dollars.
During the family reunion, NaOnka is interviewed because she is a P.E. teacher at a school, and parents have called in saying that they do not want their children in her class anymore. NaOnka explains that that was just how she played the game, but that isn’t how she is in real life.
We have a hard time believing that, but if either of us had children, we would make sure that they were far away from her. You do not want someone like her teaching your children. What would she teach? How to steal and lie?
Finally, we just want to say, “Congratulations Fabio!” for outwitting, outlasting, and outplaying the other contestants on a fantastic season of “Survivor.”
