“OMG” isn’t just an Usher song. It’s also what all the fans screamed as Usher came on stage.
Usher took Baltimore’s First Mariner Arena by storm with Miguel and Trey Songz on Dec. 8.
To get everyone pumped up, new R&B sensation Miguel sang a few songs, and with his talent, he has the potential to be the next big star.
After the opening acts, concert-goers usually find themselves sitting around, waiting while the set crew arranges the stage for the next performer. Surprisingly, Trey Songz made his appearance just minutes after Miguel. The crowd went wild, and it was hard to tell if the concert was for Usher or Trey Songz.
Trey was definitely a crowd-pleaser, winning all the ladies over with his clever sweet talking. He sang new songs, then finished with his two major hits, “Say Aah” and “Bottoms Up.“
To everyone’s surprise again, there was little down time between Trey and Usher.
From the back of the arena emerged a huge metal platform attached to the ceiling, seemingly floating through the air, carrying Usher.
He made his way to the stage where he joined his back-up dancers. The platform lowered halfway, but instead of simply getting off, Usher made a show of it.
While attached to a bungee cord, he moon walked up and down the platform and made the crowd go crazy.
Once he was off the platform, Usher opened with his hit single which topped the charts for weeks when it was released in 2004, “Yeah!”
The rest of the show was equally captivating. At one point, Usher performed a Michael Jackson tribute by doing Michael’s signature moves such as the moonwalk.
Usher brought a lucky fan onstage. He sang to her and danced with her, and it got steamy. It’s safe to say that most of the women in the audience were jealous.
After hearing old hits, the crowd was anxious to hear Usher’s new songs. Finally he belted out some of his recent hits like “Hey Daddy” and “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love.”
Then, to everyone’s dismay, he left the stage.
The fans knew it wasn’t over. After screaming and begging, Usher came back out for an encore. This proved the best part of the show with his performance of top hit “OMG.”
The concert was well-organized with two huge stars. For anyone into R&B and soul music, it was a great concert.
Usher doesn’t need a DJ to get the girls fallin’ in love with him.
