There’s nothing little about the movie “Little Fockers.” This long awaited third installment does not disappoint.
“Little Fockers” followed in the footsteps of the hilarious and well-cast films “Meet the Parents” and “Meet the Fockers.”
“Little Fockers” takes place ten years after “Meet the Fockers” with the addition of Greg (Ben Stiller) and Pam’s (Teri Polo) two children. Pam’s father Jack (Robert De Niro) tries to run Greg and Pam’s life by controlling their children. He wants to make sure that Greg is capable of being the man of the house in case something happens to Jack’s health.
Pam and Greg’s twins, Henry and Samantha, are turning five. The families come together to celebrate their birthday. This sets the stage for drama and excitement.
The expressive young actors that play the children (Daisy Tahan and Colin Baiocchi) do a great job. They always cause a laugh when trying to lighten the mood between the tensions of their families.
Greg is relieved that Jack is finally starting to like him. This doesn’t last for long because after spying and misunderstandings, Greg’s name is potentially ruined forever. Once again, Kevin makes an appearance and expresses his love for Pam, which brings even more complications into the situation.
The return of Pam’s ex-lover Kevin (Owen Wilson) in itself makes the movie worth seeing. The details from the first and second movie that are brought into the third movie make it all worth it. It’s not like other series that lose the essence of the previous movies to make a new plot.
Like the previous movies, the plot revolves around Greg’s problems. He is constantly being put down even when he is right. It can be annoying as a viewer when Greg is always portrayed as wrong, even though the viewer knows he’s right.
It was worth paying the money to see “Little Fockers” in theatres. It would even be great to add to the collection if you already have the first two. With such a great cast, it’s a hard movie to pass up.
“Little Fockers” definitely lived up to its predecessors, and the ending hinted that a fourth one may be on the way.
