An Americanized Irish coffee shop located just outside of Bel Air with delicious food and quick service is one of the best places to enjoy a nice cup of coffee and small afternoon snack after school.
We walked into McShane’s and decided to order the vanilla chai tea, the strawberry iced tea, the original pizza panini, and the original crab cake.
The chai tea came out very quickly and was extremely hot, yet absolutely delicious.
You could tell that the tea was chai and you could taste the vanilla, but it was not overwhelming.
The pizza panini was spectacular as well. The cheese inside was melted and delicious, and there was just enough pizza sauce. The bread of the panini was perfectly toasted. It wasn’t crispy, but it was warm and soft. The chips on the side were a nice attribute.
The strawberry syrup for the tea came out very quickly, but the servers failed to notify us as to where we could find the tea. After standing at the coffee counter for about two minutes, they finally told us it was next to the soda.
After filling the cup with tea, it was surprisingly delicious. The tea was unsweetened, but the strawberry syrup added a very nice flavor.
The crab cake arrived on a plate accompanied by a spinach salad with a vinaigrette dressing and mixed fruit. It was offered either on a roll or with crackers. The crab cake was filled with wonderful lump crabmeat that we enjoyed very much.
The salad dressing had a tart flavor that balanced out the taste of the spinach. I’m not a fan of spinach or vinaigrette dressings, but I actually enjoyed the salad very much. After eating the crab cake and salad, the fruit added a nice desert touch the meal we just ate.
A cup of nice Shamrock coffee was a lovely touch to the meal by adding chocolate, caramel, and Irish cream to the smoothly blended coffee.
The meal, in our opinion, was very enjoyable and proved to be better than Starbucks considering the coffee, tea and food were better. The prices were reasonable, and it is conveniently local.
The restaurant atmosphere was very relaxing and the staff was all friendly. We would recommend McShane’s for lunch, dinner, or even just a quick snack.
