The wolf pack is back.
Back for more adventures and stupidity, the pack jets off to Thailand to celebrate Stu’s (Ed Helms) second wedding, but find themselves in a little bit of trouble when they wake up in Bangkok two days before the wedding.
“The Hangover Part II” begins two years after the gang’s infamous night in Vegas with Alan (Zach Galifianakis) begging to attend Stu’s wedding, Phil (Bradley Cooper) with a baby, and Stu refusing to have anything other than a brunch for his bachelor party.
After Stu agrees to allow Alan to attend his wedding, everything goes downhill. Alan forms a strange obsession with Stu’s future 16-year-old brother-in-law and then tries to drug him but in turn drugs the whole pack. Sounds familiar?
Part II of “The Hangover” is just like the first but with a few differences. Instead of a tiger there’s a monkey, instead of Las Vegas they’re in Bangkok, instead of Doug’s (Justin Bartha) wedding its Stu’s wedding. But apart from those few differences, the plot is generally the same, but that’s what makes it so good.
“Part II” is actually very funny. The audience will more than just chuckle, they’ll laugh out loud, especially when Alan mediates, when Stu finds out what he actually did the night before, when Phil gets shot, and especially at the extremely cool drug dealing, smoking monkey.
There is no doubt that “The Hangover” has left its mark on the history of comedy, but “The Hangover Part II,” while not as funny, undeniably comes in as a very close second.
