When the clock strikes eight my fairytale begins, and I am whisked away from reality to a far-off place and new life to see on television. Whether the characters in this far away place are witches, vampires, werewolves, or normal teenagers, they all have something special that keeps you tuning in week after week.
If teenage dramas with romance are your thing, then the CW is your channel with shows such as “90210,” “Vampire Diaries,” and “The Secret Circle.”
The new season of “90210,” season 4, illustrates the gang off at college. Within the premiere episode, there was a pregnancy scandal, a marriage proposal and refusal, a kidnapped sister, and a husband with cancer.
Sometimes the show can become a bit too exaggerated, which makes some situations seem unrealistic. The marriage proposal from Liam to Annie was a bit too overdone and dramatic. Although the situations are extreme, the acting is expressive and professional, and the storyline is wonderful. It makes your problems seem so much more miniscule. Watch this show at 8 o’clock Tuesdays on the CW.
Another romantic drama airing on the CW is the “Vampire Diaries,” which is back and better than ever this season. Elena is fighting to bring Stephan, her vampire boyfriend, back from Klaus, the antagonist, while Damon still fights for Elena. Stephan is stuck mercilessly killing people for Klaus because he had to save Damon from a werewolf bite.
As you can tell, this show is very intertwined and confusing if you don’t consistently watch it, but is the suspenseful drama is worthwhile. Watch it at 8 o’clock Thursdays on the CW.
Debuting this season on the CW is yet another teenage drama, “The Secret Circle.” This drama follows the life of 16-year-old, Cassie, whose mother just died. Not only that, but she moves to the town where her mother grew up and finds out that not only was her mother a witch, but so is Cassie.
This show has a budding romance with the main characters as well as death around every corner. “The Secret Circle” always keeps you guessing. It airs right after “Vampire Diaries,” so finish your homework early so you have time for your mini marathon event.
