4 last-minute DIY Halloween costume ideas

Are you short on money and quickly running out of time to get that perfect Halloween costume together? Explore these four quick, easy, and cheap options for a costume you can make yourself.

 


“Mean Girls,” costume- “She doesn’t even go here!”

To recreate this iconic look from “Mean Girls,” you will need:she-doesn_t-even-go-here-supplies-900x600

  • 1 colored hoodie with pull strings
  • Black sunglasses
  • 1 black Sharpie
  • 1 piece of paper
  • 1 piece of string
  • tape or glue

 

Here’s how to create your look:

Step 1: Pull the hood up and tie the strings tight in a bow underneath your chin.

Step 2: Put on the black sunglasses.

Step 3: Write “she doesn’t even go here,” on the piece of paper. Then, glue or tape the extra piece of string to the paper on both sides so it can hang from your neck.

Step 4: Put the sign around your neck and enjoy “Girl world Halloween!”


“When life gives you lemons…” costume

  • White pants
  • Black sharpie
  • Bag of lemons

Here’s how to create this look:

Step 1: Write “LIFE,” in bold letters on your shirt with the sharpie.

Step 2: Put on your shirt and pants

Step 3: Carry your bag of lemons around all night and give them out. Have a great time treating (or tricking) other people to some lemons!


Barbie doll costume

  • 1 oversized white shirt
  • 1 pair of bright pink leggings
  • 1 pair of bright pink high heels
  • 1 bottle of pink fabric paint
  • 1 bright pink lipstick
  • 1 pencil

 

Here’s how to recreate this look:

Step 1: For those of you who can’t draw well, print out this picture.

Step 2: Place the printout in-between the front and back of the shirt so you can see it through the front side.

Step 3: Trace the Barbie logo with the pencil.

Step 4: Fill in the tracing with pink fabric paint and let it dry.

Step 5: Once the shirt is dry, put it on with your leggings, lipstick and high heels. Congratulations, you’re Barbie!

  • 2 printouts of the emoji
  • 1 bottle of fabric glue

Here’s how to create your look:

Step 1: Put on your shirts.

Step 2: Measure the amount of ribbon necessary to tie around your waist and then cut two lengths of ribbon.

Step 3: Glue one picture of the emoji on each length of ribbon.

Step 4: Tie the ribbons around your waist and enjoy your Halloween!
