JC Patriots travel and make memories during much anticipated summer vacation months

Once in a while, everyone needs a break, and students and teachers at The John Carroll School get that break each summer.

During this time, students and teachers do a large variety of things to keep themselves busy until school returns in September.

The Patriot community did a lot of very cool things during the summer, ranging from going on vacation both in and out of the United States to going to camps and other venues.

Religion teacher Mr. Chris Deaver went on a cruise in the western Caribbean with his family.

The cruise took him to the town of Tulum, which is on the Caribbean side of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Tulum houses Mayan ruins of what once was an ancient port city.

Mr. Deaver said that this was the first time he took his three kids, two of which go to John Carroll, on a cruise.

Senior John DeSoto went to nine different countries all around the world; these countries included Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands, Austria, Spain, France, Germany, and China.

Out of the nine trips he took, eight of them were to European countries, and those trips were for meeting with his other family and his friends. On the trip that he took to the Asian country of China, he taught several Chinese students the English language.

“Travel as much as you can right now, so that you don’t regret it later in life,” said John.
