Netflix’s “Tiger King” is nothing like you’ve ever seen

You’ve never seen anything like it. I can tell you that right now.

“Tiger King,” a new documentary on Netflix, has the world talking about the story of Joe Exotic.

The seven-episode story follows about five  years of Exotic’s life as he runs the successful private zoo, “The G.W. Zoo,” in Oklahoma. He is the happy owner of over 200 big cats, ranging from lions to tigers to snow leopards to ligers. However, this story will leave all watchers dying for more.

Joe Exotic is currently sitting in prison for murder for hire, but how does one go from a zoo owner to a felon? For Joe, it was power.

Joe, a gay, polygamist, gun owning, foul-mouthed, egocentric man is the perfect person for someone with a camera as he dances across stages in his bedazzled shirts holding a tiger cub born two hours before. His stage was his safety until it took over his life.

The documentary also follows the years of hatred between Joe Exotic and Carol Baskin, the owner of Big Cat Rescue, a place determined to stop the ownership of all big cats. This rivalry quickly takes a deep turn for the worse and to not give away all the details, I’ll give you a hint. Joe Exotic is currently sitting in prison for murder-for-hire.

Every single second of “Tiger King” has a new level of surprise, shock, anger and disgust. Each episode falls in at about under an hour, making it a fairly quick watch. However, once you get into this story, you’ll watch it much faster than that.

But don’t think this TV show is simply about a guy owning a zoo and some tigers. It goes much, much deeper than that. It dives into the ideas of the power of popularity, the power of social media, and the power one’s words truly have.

This TV show has sparked conversation all over from celebrities such as Cardi B, who believes Joe Exotic is innocent and wants him out of jail. However, you’ll have to watch and determine that for yourself.

Along with this, it has created another uprising of animal’s rights activists and people demanding to have policies changed about the captivity and ownership of big cats in America.

Throughout all its twists and turns, this show is a must see. “Tiger King” will be the craziest show you’ll see this year. I can guarantee you that.

As a heads up: they show NO abuse or harm of any animals throughout the show. Only the mention of potential animal abuse.
