This year the JC College Preparatory Dance Program was able to go on a day trip to New York City.

According to Director of the College Preparatory Dance Program, Laura Ward-Moran, the dancers “enjoyed a day spent in the city taking two classes of their choice at Broadway Dance Center, strolling Bryant Park looking at the holiday displays, and touring Rockefeller Square.”
Mrs. Ward-Moran described the agenda of the day.
“We departed by bus at 7:40 am. We arrived in NYC at approximately 10:30 am. Classes began at Broadway Dance Center at 11:30 am and ended at 3:30 pm. We strolled through Bryant Park and ate by the rink until 5:30. The dancers walked Fifth Avenue and enjoyed shopping, and we boarded the bus at 6:30. We were home at 9:45pm.”
Junior Izzy Cole, a member of the JC dance program said “It was my first time going to New York. The dance classes were amazing; it is always fun to learn from different teachers who you don’t have every day. Walking around New York was amazing as well. The city is just so active and always moving, which I just loved.”
Junior Reagan McComas said, “The trip to New York opened my mind to the lifestyle there, and it has really inspired me to work even harder to reach my dreams.”
Junior Chloe Davies commented, “The New York field trip was amazing . . . I loved being able to dance at Broadway Dance Center alongside professional dancers.”
Mrs. Ward-Moran said, “The trip was great! The students and parents were appreciative of the opportunity.”
Mrs. Ward-Moran plans to continue the annual trip. She said, “The students really enjoy it and find it inspiring, so I am happy to take them.”
