Fall season brings out special autumn-related treats
October 31, 2022
Finally, one of the most beloved times of year is here. The days are gradually shortening, and a chill has swept through the area. From spiced lattes to gory costumes, America is fascinated.
Reportedly, Starbucks alone sells about 20 million pumpkin spice lattes each year, just in the few short months they are available. Likewise, the new Chick-fil-a Autumn Spice milkshake has become extremely popular, tasting of spiced gingerbread.
Many look ahead to Thanksgiving, which holds lots valuable traditions: cookie making, pie baking, turkey basting. These are everything America could want, and people will be making memories that will last a lifetime.
Aside from the delicious aspects of fall, there are attractions that bring many valuable memories.
There are an abundance of fun, family friendly festivals and corn mazes across Maryland. There is the Maryland Pumpkin Festival at Summers Farm in Frederick, the Fall Fun Festival at Gaver Farm in Mt. Airy, and even a more local event, the Star Bright Farm Fall Harvest Festival, in White Hall.
One of the most frightening yet popular events is Field of Screams, which is considered America’s #1 haunted attraction located in Lancaster, PA. Visitors travel from all over the East Coast to witness the thrilling adventures this location has to offer. Just an hour’s drive from John Carroll, it includes four main haunted attractions: The Haunted Hayride, Den of Darkness, Frightmare Asylum, and Nocturnal Wasteland.
The Field of Scream’s official website says, “Live in your nightmares as you journey through each attraction, and be prepared for the most horrifying experience of your life because Field of Screams takes fear to a whole new level.”
Even movies contribute to the wonderful aspects of fall. With a new horror movie screening, people looking for a thrill are intrigued.
Smile, a 2022 horror/suspense film is bringing many to the theaters. Dr. Rose Cotter, a witness to a bizarre incident involving one of her patients, starts to experience some of her own traumatic experiences that cannot be explained. She must confront her frightening past to overcome the horrifying new reality.
Halloween costume choices are reviving the indecisiveness in Americans again this year. Being a witch or vampire, or being more creative and coming up with an original idea, no one can decide.
Some believe that a majority of trick-or-treaters will go as characters on hit TV shows or movies.
For example, many have chosen to recreate characters from the new season of Stranger Things. Others may choose to impersonate Maverick from Top Gun: Maverick. Be prepared to hear the phrase “Trick-or-Treat” repeated at least a thousand times tonight.
No matter how you spend your evenings, be sure to take a second and think of the wonderful memories you have made and are about to make during this wonderful season.
