Return to Me is a 2000s American romantic comedy-drama movie directed by Bonnie Hunt about a man named Bob Rueland who is played by David Duchovny. He falls in love with a woman after his wife’s death.

The movie opens with a scene of the couple, Bob and Elizabeth Rueland, on their way to an awards show. On the way home, the couple gets into a car crash, killing Elizabeth.

Soon after the car accident, viewers see a character at the hospital as she’s about to receive heart transplant surgery from Elizabeth’s heart. The recipient has been suffering from heart disease since childhood and is near death at the time of the car accident.

After the death of his wife, Bob is living a lonely life in which he feels that his work is his life. His friends try to convince him to start dating again and set him up on a blind date at an Italian restaurant.

During the date, Bob finds himself more attracted to waitress Grace Briggs than his blind date.

Later in the movie, Bob returns to the restaurant in hopes of seeing Grace again.

As the story continues, they fall more in love until Bob finds out that Grace has Elizabeth’s heart. Bob is faced with a difficult decision on whether or not he wants to continue his relationship with Grace.

Return to Me is a good watch if you want a romantic comedy to watch on Valentine’s Day. The movie has two nominations with two wins for “Most Inspiring Movie” and “Most Inspiring Performance in Movies.”

The movie was released April 7, 2000, and was actor Carroll O’Connor’s last film before his death the following year. Return to Me is available on YouTube, Amazon Video, Google Play Movies, and Vudu.
