Great Wolf Lodge is an indoor water park with 20 different locations in the US with three on the way.

The oldest location is in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, which first opened in 1997. The newest one that just opened in June of 2023 is in Perryville. This is the largest Great Wolf out of all of them.

This new location has 700 family-friendly suites and a 126,000 square-foot waterpark. In addition to the waterpark, there is also an arcade, Magiquest, mining, mirror maze, ropes course, bowling, and mini golf. Magiquest is an activity that Great Wolf is known for where children can run around the hotel and play a game with different quests.

Recently, Math Teacher Kristen Kirkpatrick took her family to visit the new location. She explained how she has been to other locations and compared this experience to past ones.

“My only complaint would be there are no balconies in the rooms, and I enjoy having a balcony in my room especially with my kids.”

Having a balcony in rooms is a well-used amenity. Lots of people enjoy being able to take a break from the room cluster.

Now that being the only downside to this new place, there are lots of positives.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick said, “I liked that there was a real restaurant where my family could enjoy a nice dinner, and the food was actually really good.”

At some of the other locations, there are buffets instead of full serve restaurants. Having this option is a good add-on.

Another good thing is that this is the closest location to us. You can take a day trip and just do the waterpark or use the amenities of the place.
