The popularity of streaming services arose in the late 2000s with streaming services like Livestream which released in 2007. YouTube would be released in 2008 which greatly pushed the technology onto a more mainstream platform.
This caused many companies to start investing in the technology and applications that made streaming movies, games, TV, and even following the life of a favorite celebrity possible.
Today, the technology of streaming has grown exponentially. Since then, streaming has become the new societal norm for viewing things. This has made things quick and easy for entertainment purposes all across the world; however, there are many things that may dissuade people from using the services.
For instance, consumers might be limited by their internet speed, causing the stream to buffer and making the stream lose quality. There is also the problem of having to have an internet connection to be even able to properly use the streaming service of choice. This can cause issues with people who may not be able to afford or use the internet at the time.
Going to a movie theater is way more simple in terms of viewing new movies or entertainment. All you have to do is drive or walk to the theaters to view the current showing. The theaters also have their own problems such as having to wait for when a current showing is available or having to deal with noisy and disruptive people inside of the theater itself.
There is also the expense of theaters which can be quite hefty sometimes, especially if you’re bringing another person along. The theater, even with some of its cons is an experience that everyone must experience at least once in their lifetime.
Overall, the theaters are better if you like getting out from home and going out with friends to hang out.
Streaming movies are better if you are more of an introvert who doesn’t want to deal with the problems that people bring or if you don’t want to wait for a scheduled movie time.
Both experiences are worth it. The only thing stopping people is preference.
