This summer, over 72,000 people per show saw Taylor Swift live in concert for her Era’s Tour. She performed 52 shows across the United States.
This concert featured songs from every one of her albums. It included many costume and set changes, along with energetic dances.
For fans, every concert was different; she played surprise songs and wore different costumes at different concerts. Surprise songs were a big hit among the fans who would make bets on songs she would play and keep score over the ones she had hoping their favorite would be played at their concert.
Junior Ella Parks really liked the songs she played at her concert. Ella went to the Philly night three concert and said, “I loved my surprise songs. She played ‘Hey Stephen’ and ‘Best Day.’”
Junior Sophie Andrychowski also went to that concert and said she loves that song, too.
Senior Addison Steffes went to Philly night two and listened to Swift play “Forever and Always” and “This Love.” Addie said, “I wanted her to play ‘Gold Rush’ but ‘Forever and Always’ is one of my favorite songs.”
Swift fans went crazy trying to buy tickets for this show, even causing Ticketmaster to crash because so many people were desperate for tickets.
Ella said, “I paid $150 for nosebleed tickets;” however, Ella said she would “one million percent go again, in a heartbeat. It was so incredibly worth every dollar and every ounce of energy/time spent.”
Addie paid about $250 for lower bowl tickets, which is expensive in her opinion, but since it was her birthday present it was worth it.
Many people who went to see this tour did not just pay the money to see Taylor Swift for the first time. They have been Taylor Swift fans for years.
Addie has been a fan since she was little, and she grew up listening to her music. The music will always be special to her. Addie said that she grew up on the albums Speak Now, and Red, and that is partly why Speak Now is her favorite era.
“I resonate with a lot of the songs on the album,” she said.
Ella agrees with Addie and said, “I am a huge fan of her old songs from Fearless and Speak Now, but I also love her new albums like Folklore and Lover.”
In the end Ella just cannot pick one favorite. “All of her eras have insane music, and she truly re-invents herself with every era.”
Not only does Swift make money off her longtime fans, but she also makes them off their families and friends who come with them to the concert.
Sophie’s favorite memory from the concert was on the ride there, on the bus with her friends.
Sophie took her mom, sister, and two best friends with her. Another person who took multiple people with them was Ella. She took her mom, aunt, cousin, and hopes to continue going to Taylor concerts in the future with them.
Addie also took her mom. One of Addie’s favorite memories is with her mother at the concert. Addie said watching the Reputation opener was cool, she got to see all the lights on the stage, and her mom even thought it was cracking.
Ella’s favorite memory was the feeling she got before Taylor went on stage. “I was just so excited.”
