Taylor Swift has been all over social media recently for a number of reasons. Her very popular ‘Eras Tour’ has been all over TikTok and Instagram since March, and to add to it, there was her announcement of ‘Speak Now: Taylor’s Version’ in May.
Speak Now: Taylor’s Version was released on July 7, with the premiere of the “I Can See You” music video,. “Long Live” was added to the set list; the iconic koi fish guitar was taken out of the Country Music Hall of Fame to be used on tour, and a new dress was included for the Speak Now set.
Since the release of Speak Now: Taylor’s Version, fans started rumors of Swift’s newest re-recording, 1989: Taylor’s Version. The prediction was that she would announce it on August 9 at her last show in Los Angeles as it would be the eighth month and the ninth day of the year.
Swift announced the album on August 9 and shocked her fans with new blue outfits on the Speak Now, Folklore, 1989, and the surprise song sets. She recently announced five new vault tracks once fans worldwide completed puzzles about the album.
Senior Brooke Hoskins said, “I am so excited for 1989: Taylor’s Version. The vault track I am most excited for is ‘Suburban Legends.’”
The album was released on October 27, exactly two weeks after the release of the very popular Eras Tour Concert movie.
Swifties are already trying to figure out the next re-recording and the date it will be announced. Many fans want Reputation to be the next Taylor’s Version album.
Junior Alannah Benson said, “Though I do love ‘Picture to Burn’ and ‘Should’ve Said No’ on Debut, I’m going to have to go with reputation. I would die just to hear reputation’s ‘From the Vault’ tracks. Plus that album was made to show how good of an artist she is.”
Swift’s albums alone have been a major topic of conversation among her fans, and her Eras Tour movie was announced to premiere worldwide on October 13.
Theaters showing the movie gave out a special Eras Tour popcorn bucket, cup and a free mini poster. AMC Theaters had friendship bracelet stations and a set list playing. They encouraged singing and dancing during the show.
Alannah was very excited about the movie and said, “I will be seeing it with a couple of friends as soon as possible.”
“I am really excited for the Eras Tour film because it gives people who weren’t able to get tickets to the real concert a chance to experience it. I will definitely be seeing it. I just don’t know when,” senior Brooke Hoskins said.
Aside from Swift’s musical career, she is now seen more in the sports world. She and Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce have been rumored to be dating, five months after Swift ended things with Joe Alwyn.
Senior Maggie Maloney said, “Honestly, I am kind of excited about Taylor and Travis. Up until now, she’s only dated actors and musicians, so it’s nice to see her branch out and date a professional athlete.”
Fans are going crazy for this relationship. Swift has appeared at a few of Kelce’s games, giving fans the confirmation they needed of their relationship.
“After talking to my dad, it seems like Travis is a really good guy, so I think they are a good pairing,” says Maggie.
Swift’s next show is on November 10, and fans wonder if Travis will be there to watch her perform.
