Outside of all the Harford County Sheriffs Department precincts is a sign that displays the current number of overdoses and deaths by heroin in hopes of raising awareness of the epidemic. As on April 8, 2016, there have been 60 overdoses and 8 deaths.

A memorial of a son who lost his life to heroin addiction is displayed on Route 22 in order to raise awareness. This is one of the many families that have lost a loved one or have been affected by heroin addiction.
