IT’S ACADEMIC TEAM: In January, the John Carroll Academic Team defeated Long Reach High School and Patapsco High School on the “It’s Academic” TV show. The team of seniors Jacob Deaver and Sam Golumbek and sophomore Sydney Miller gave a dominant performance, correctly answering 15 of the 18 trivia questions posed to them – passing on the other three – with no wrong answers. Their score of 380 points was enough to top a tough Long Reach team, semifinalists from a year ago, who scored an equally-impressive 340 points. Their next round match will be held on Sunday, March 14 verses Howard and Reservoir High Schools.
