Compliments spread love

Have you ever wanted to…sincerely compliment others?

With Valentine’s Day and the idea of telling people how you feel about them all around, I decided to compliment people face to face. Social media is a way to share quick, short thoughts with people, but when you have the opportunity to personally brighten someone’s day, why not?

So, for one day, I decided to make it a goal to find a positive characteristic in people I may not talk to on a normal basis. Each mod, I found two different people and shared some quick but meaningful compliment in order to brighten their day. There was even a chain reaction as I noticed those people I complimented doing the same to others. Spreading positivity with others during the day made me feel better about myself as well.

In addition to complimenting people I normally wouldn’t, I made it a point to think only positive thoughts. Instead of engaging in talking about other people negatively, I decided to look at the good in people.

Being conscious of your thoughts and words towards others is always a constant battle. A bucket list idea doesn’t have to be large and far-fetched, it can be as simple as smiling at someone in the hallway. Compliments really can go a long way, and should be something you don’t keep to yourself. Go out and spread love with the rest of the world because it is definitely more fun that way for everyone involved.
