Watch your head! Here comes more yogurt.
While attending the University of Dayton, Brian Bourne religion teacher, had many good experiences. At a block party called Lows, a vendor gave out free samples of yogurt.
The students at Dayton thought it would be a great idea to start a food fight, and yogurt was flying everywhere. This is just one of thousands of great memories you could have by attending Dayton.
The University of Dayton is a nonprofit, private Catholic Marianist University. It ranks among the top ten Catholic universities in the country.
Although Dayton is a Catholic university, according to Bourne it isn’t a strictly-based Catholic school. “They don’t force you to go to Mass, but the option is there. At Dayton there is always a religious undertone,” said Bourne.
At the University of Dayton there are around 7,000 students with a student-teacher ratio of 14 to 1. The average class size is made up of about 27 students.
“Dayton has phenomenal teachers, phenomenal classes. The teachers are world renowned. Mrs. Tilley was surely the best. She would bring in articles referencing her name,” said Bourne.
Applying:
When applying to Dayton, you can apply either online or by mail for a fee of $50. Along with your application, you are required to have an entrance exam taken by December of your senior year and scores from either the SAT or ACT. They recommend you also submit a personal statement and have both a recommendation letter and an interview.
Dayton also has a cool feature that lets you see your admission status online at any time.
What it Offers:
Dayton offers the chance to be involved in an honors, study abroad, or entrepreneur program. In addition they have sports and clubs, which include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis, track, volleyball, academic clubs, governing clubs, Greek organizations, and honor societies among other things.
The programs of study offered at Dayton are biological sciences, business, communications and the arts, computer and physical science, education, engineering and environmental design, health professions, and social sciences.
At Dayton, if you start freshmen year as undeclared, there are programs to help you choose a major. They allow you to explore different areas of study through their special advisement process and give you an academic advisor to guide you to the right program.
Bourne attended as a communications major and had nothing but good things to say about Dayton. He even joined the Communications Fraternity.
