Senior Rachel Dinsmore brought great new talent to the staff of The Patriot this year. Dinsmore is leaving behind the JC News Update that will continue to be a tradition for the Patriot website. JC News Update brings recent and exciting news happening in JC to the students. Dinsmore was the anchor of the news segment and covered news stories from all over JC.
When not working on a current episode of the JC News Update, Dinsmore would often be found in the auditorium practicing for the plays. Dinsmore was involved in the chorus at JC and was a consistent member in JC’s drama program. She had the pleasure to play Mother Darling in this year’s production “Peter Pan”. With acting close to her heart, Dinsmore will miss doing the shows here at JC and hopes to possibly find a theatre program in college.
Dinsmore will be attending Gettysburg College in the fall, which is less than two hours away. With the distance not being too far away, Dinsmore hopes to be able to visit JC after she leaves. Although her current major is undecided, Dinsmore is learning towards majoring in English.
Dinsmore also has future plans to be an active member in Gettysburg College’s community. She wishes to be a part of the a cappella group at Gettysburg and do intramural sports. “I plan to be involved with GRAB, which is Gettysburg Recreational Adventure Board, pretty much an outdoor hiking, kayaking, craziness group,” Dinsmore said.
With college growing nearer, Dinsmore worries about her roommate, like most students do. “I’m ready for new friends, new opportunities and new adventures. I am going to miss all of my friends the most though. It’s going to be pretty weird not seeing them every day anymore,” Dinsmore said.
