Religion teacher Jackie Moeser ended her three-year battle with cancer Saturday morning. She passed away in hospice care at Stella Maris with her husband John and daughter Jackie at her side.
In an email to the student body, Principal Paul Barker said, “Mrs. Moeser was a woman of deep faith who drew great sustenance from the many expressions of love and support from our school.” He said that she was moved by the school’s rendition of “Lean on Me” that was put together at the Homecoming Pep Rally.
School will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 17, in honor of Moeser and for faculty and students who wish to attend the funeral mass. Bus transportation from JC to the mass is available, and students can email secretary Susan Strawbridge for a permission slip.
The viewing will be held at Ruck Funeral Home in Towson on Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. The funeral mass will take place at St. Joseph Church in Cockeysville at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The burial will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Jacqueline Garner-Moeser Scholarship Fund at John Carroll.
