Inspired by her love for watching and making movies, senior Brooke Basta will host the second annual John Carroll School Film Festival on April 11 in the auditorium.
Basta, who hopes to get as many students involved as possible, wants to “show the talent that the local students have in filmmaking.” The festival will showcase films created by JC students as well as other Maryland high school and college students.
“I want to help other students share their talents with the local community, and I want them to be proud of what they created,” Basta said.
Films will be judged and prizes will be given to the top videos.
Having won several awards for her own videos in previous local film festivals, “I want others to feel the way I did,” Basta said.
Entries will be accepted until the March 28 deadline. Entries must be less than 15 minutes in length and appropriate for all ages.
Students can submit their entries on DVD to history and TV production teacher Bob Schick. E-mail Basta at [email protected] for questions or more information.
