With the help of French teacher Regina Ferry, sophomore Mitchell Russell restarted the French Club. Five people attended the first meeting for the new foreign language club on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
A French Club existed a few years ago, but low participation caused it to end. With Ferry’s help, Russell is reviving it. Russell started the club in order “to find people that love the French language like I do.”
Russell is optimistic about the club. “I’d like to bond with other people who take French, make friends, and get to know them,” Russell said.
According to Ferry, the club is open to all students, but taking French as a foreign language will help members be able to participate in discussions. The club meets every Tuesday in room 316 for 30 minutes where members can “chat, watch movies, and make food,” said Ferry.
“You don’t need to know French. Just come and we’ll teach you,” Russell said.
