Earlier this month, The Pinnacle won first place for Best Literary Magazine from the American Scholastic Press Association. The award was given for the 2016 edition, “Serenity,” which took several months of planning and laying out.

“When I found out the news, I was extremely proud and couldn’t wait to share it with the community,” moderator Allison Hall said.“We weren’t necessarily going for an award, but we submit the issue for evaluation and the award was a pleasant surprise.”

According to one of The Pinnacle’s Editors in Chief senior Shelby Umbarger, “winning this award felt very accomplishing and shows that all our hard work paid off.”

Senior Brooke Hare, the other Editor in Chief, agrees and is excited to announce that the theme of this year’s Pinnacle is “We Are.” “We hope that the theme will carry out into the entire school and can branch out into all aspects of the school community,” Hare said.
