2017 Homecoming and Spirit Week themes announced
In an email sent to students on Tuesday, Sept. 26, Student Government Association moderator Rodney Johnson confirmed that the Homecoming theme for this year will be “Tropical Paradise.” This theme was chosen over “Vegas,” “50s,” and “Space,” which placed second, third, and fourth, respectively, in the survey.
The theme was decided via a survey sent to the senior class last week, making this year’s theme decided only by the senior class.
Tickets will go on sale next week for $20 in the school store. The dance will be held on Oct. 7, and as with every dance, guest forms must be filled out in order to bring outside guests.
Johnson also sent an email announcing the Spirit Week themes, which will take place Oct. 2 through Oct. 6. The Spirit Week themes for this year will be “Maryland, My Maryland” on Monday, and “National Day” on Tuesday. “Tropical Paradise” will be Wednesday, which ties into the dance theme. Thursday and Friday will be “Black and Gold” and “Class Color” days, respectively.
