Recently, the administration sent out an update requiring that all students submit a daily attendance form in Veracross. This caused confusion for many students who questioned the reasoning behind the attendance form.

An email was sent out, soon after, addressing the reasoning behind the daily attendance form. The email stated that the reason was “ to comply with regulations from the Maryland State Department of Education and the Association of Independent Maryland Schools.”

The email stated that all students would be required to “record their attendance on Veracross each day between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Many students still had concerns or issues with the attendance from.

“I don’t think we should have to complete the attendance form saying that we are present each day. We should only have to submit the form if we are not present that day,” senior Miranda Dillon said.

Although the daily attendance form may be an inconvenience for some students, it may be something students will have to power through for the remainder of the school year. It is an easy enough task that students should be able to complete it with no problems.
