March is the month for women. March 8 was National Women’s Empowerment Day. Women have done a lot of things in history, so Women’s Empowerment month and day are important to show appreciation for them.
At JC there is a Women’s Empowerment Club. Their mission within the JC community is to educate everyone about issues of women and to promote gender equality in the community.
In the past for Women’s History Month, they posted daily quotes and fun facts from inspiring women in history and present day.
In JC, female teachers, counselors, and other mentors provide safe spaces for female students to be able to grow, encourage others, and learn.
There are many female leaders here at JC who inspire female students to reach their full potential through their dedication and perseverance.
Women’s Empowerment Club President Bethany Davies said, “As a woman at JC, I am a leader by running the Women’s Empowerment Club. Through the club, I am able to empower other female students here at JC, both in their academic lives and personal lives and encourage them to pursue their dreams and achieve goals. My goal is to break stigmas and bring light to problems women face every day and bring equality to all.”
