Hall, Austria – Officials are planning an exhumation of 220 bodies buried at a hospital previously used by Nazis. The graves at Hall hospital contain remains from those buried between 1942 and 1945. A large portion of the buried are believed to be disabled, deemed unfit to live by the Nazis and therefore murdered. Exhumations are set to begin in March, when the ground thaws. Investigators will then attempt to identify remains and declare causes of death. Hall hospital is currently used as a psychiatric hospital.

Kent Island, Maryland – According to the Maryland Department of the Environment, tens of thousands of fish in the Chesapeake Bay have recently died and washed ashore. The deaths are likely a result of the cold water. MDE spokeswoman Dawn Stolzfus said the fish normally swim to warmer water before frigid temperatures in December occur, and could not explain why they didn’t. The MDE does visit sites were the fish wash ashore to ensure the fish weren’t killed by pollutants, but does not clean up the fish.

Rockford, Illinois – On New Year’s Eve, Ashley Fansler underwent a cesarean section to give birth to twins. However, the twins were born in different years. Madisen Carin Lewis was born 11:59pm on Dec. 31, 2010, while Everette Aiden Lewis was born at 12am on Jan. 1,, 2011. Fansler was not due until the end of January, but to avoid complications she underwent a cesarean section.
