Pro V. Con: Uniforms save lives

This is the pro argument on the dress code and uniform at JC. To read the con click here.

Uniforms are just about the smartest decision JC has ever made.

Although many girls argue that they cannot express their individuality, in reality, they have no idea how good they have it. I’m pretty certain that if JC did not have uniforms, the hallways would be flooded with girls in yoga pants and Uggs boots. What’s the point in wearing clothes to express yourself if you’re just going to wear what everyone else wears?

It’s dramatic to say that uniforms hide people’s individuality. While I love to dress down on weekends and have more fun with my style, uniforms save my life during the school week.

I don’t know if it’s just because I’m lazy in the morning, but the thought of having to pick out an outfit to wear to school every day just gives me a headache. Throwing on the same thing every morning saves so much time. Not to mention, the girl’s uniform is actually pretty comfortable.

Uniforms are also a great way to tie the school together. They string a common thread between students and allow us to be a community.

I know I always feel so much more put together in the morning because I know exactly what I’m going to wear. Uniforms really make things so much easier for everyone and add a layer of class to our school.
