To be honest . . . I really don’t care what you think about all of your Facebook friends.
The latest rage on our favorite social networking system is posting statuses with the theme of “to be honest” or “truth is.” The purpose is for others to ‘like’ it so that you will post something on their wall.
Most of the things people say can be hurtful or fake. What’s being posted is not always how they really feel about someone.
On my boring Friday night, I decided to check out some statuses that were clogging up my news feed. For example, “To be honest, I don’t understand why your friends judge me for hanging out with older people and I don’t understand why they don’t like me. On a better note though, you’re really pretty and funny!”
Not exactly the nicest thing to say to someone over the Internet.
Personally, I have never made a “truth is” status because I think it’s a waste of time. If I really want to tell someone how I feel about them, I’ll tell them in person. However, I am being slightly hypocritical since I have liked someone’s status before, only because it’s interesting to see what people post on your wall. But only when it’s nice.
