The following is a letter from Library and Media Assistant Phyllis Grymes in response to the staff editorial regarding the March 1 assembly.
Dear JC Patriot,
Although I was not present for the assembly to which you refer, I am aware of what occurred. My question is: how many years does it take for the administration to project and set a good example before it sinks in?? I have witnessed the behavior of the class of 2011 for the past four years and am amazed and frustrated at how nothing has changed.
How many assemblies, sermons, speakers and retreats does it take before you learn the meaning of respect??? Do not put the blame on the administration for your poor behavior. You claim you need a “model” sometimes to set an example!! It’s been FOUR years…………how many years do you need? How many examples need to be set?
You are leaving in two months and will be going to college soon. Wake up…..the college administrators and professors will not be setting examples for you, they will be expecting YOU to set examples and show respect where it is due.
Thank you,
Mrs. Grymes
