Dear Editor,
Having been a member of the faculty of our school for over 40 years, I feel compelled to write in opposition to the remarks of Scott Novak. We are a Catholic school and as such we uphold the teachings of our church. Our Catholic religion is not a smorgasbord. Either you accept the teachings of the church or you don’t. Make no mistake about it; abortion is the killing of a human being. Those in favor of the right of abortion don’t use the terms life/death.
They use the term “pro choice”, but don’t be confused, this is a life or death issue. As a community we need to stand on the side of those who can’t speak for themselves, the unborn. If we don’t, we might as well tear down the cross in front of our school and close our doors. We will have no reason to exist.
