Warriors lost their battle against JC
Monday, Dec. 20, the Havre de Grace Warriors lost their battle with the Patriots. JC won by 15 points with a final score of 56-41.
During the first quarter of the game, JC dominated the board with a score of 13-3.
By the second quarter Havre de Grace was closing the gap. Senior Travonn Bond had two foul shots and a two pointer. Junior Darin Washington, one of the leading scorers, had two steals and shot six points. Senior Dayshawn Bolling had made three fouls shots.
Havre de Grace continued to close the gap until senior Malcolm McMillan made a two pointer, two foul shots, and a dunk. Also helping JC pull ahead was a three pointer by Kamau Stokes, a steal and a two-pointer from senior Jarred Jones, and a two pointer by senior Zack Frink. At the end of the first half, the score was 28-22, with the Patriots up by 6.
In the third quarter, the Patriots took their steady lead. McMillan dunked again and made all four of his foul shots along with a two pointer. Scott had made a two pointer and Jones had scored a two pointer, made two foul shots, and had a steal.
The Warriors had scored a total of nine points with a two pointer made by junior Kevin Holloway. Senior Trevell Malloy made a three and two pointer. At the end of this quarter the score was 42-31, Patriots.
In the fourth quarter, the Patriots had secured their win. McMillan and sophomore Rodney Elliot both had a steal a two pointer back to back within 15 seconds. Sophomore Mike Owona and Jones each had stolen the ball as well. Stokes had put up another three and Scott had made a two pointer.
On the Warriors side, Malloy had shot a three. Senior Nate Jones had scored four more points, Washington had made a two pointer, and Bolling made a foul shot. By the end of the game, the Warriors only scored 10 more points and JC scored 14 more points making the final score 41-56.
