The varsity women’s lacrosse team will advance to the league quarterfinals against Notre Dame Preparatory School on Tuesday, May 10.
“I’m excited about the game. [NDP] is our biggest rival, so it’s always an intense game,” senior and team captain Sarah Dennison said.
In the first round of the playoffs, the women’s lacrosse team had a bye as the fourth seed team. Tuesday’s quarterfinal game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at JC.
“We’re down a few players. I’m nervous about that, but I don’t think that will affect us as much. I think that we’ll be able to come together as a team. I think that this game will give the underclassmen the change to step up and make their mark, making a big impact for us,” Dennison said.
“I think that if we come out strong and positive, we’ll do fine,” freshman midfielder Alyssa Lazaro said.
If JC wins, the team will move on to the semifinals, playing the winner of Tuesday’s McDonogh School v. St. Mary’s High School matchup. Number-one seeded McDonogh won their past 46 games, according to the IAAM league website.
“I’m assuming it will be JC and McDonogh for the semifinals,” Dennison said.
