Fall sports struggle to maintain success
Wrapping up the season, players and coaches reflect on the ups and downs of their seasons.
Women’s Volleyball
The women’s varsity volleyball team finished their season with an in-conference record of 3-9 and an overall record of 6-13. The team made it into the playoffs but lost 3-0 against Notre Dame Prep. The varsity women’s soccer team finished with an overall record of 3-11. In the playoffs, the team beat Mercy in quarterfinals then lost to Spalding in the semi-finals 2-0. The varsity football team finished their season with a 1-9 record overall season record. The team performance was a result of multiple injuries, and their failure to “develop a winning chemistry,” according to head coach Keith Rawlings. This year the women’s varsity tennis team finished with a record of 1-8. However, this season was still one of improvement. “We started with a lot of new people which was a challenge, but we really improved over the season,” senior doubles player Hailey Ishak said. The varsity women’s cross country team finished the year with a 2-5 in-conference record. They also finished sixth overall at the IAAM A Conference championships on Oct. 25. The varsity field hockey team won the IAAM B Conference Championship for the third consecutive year, finishing the season with a total of 11 wins out of 12 games.
