The first of several Friday Fall Fun Night games to come in the 2023 school year was marked on Friday, September 1. For this game, JC’s football team took on Landon and lost after putting up a great fight.
With the score tied at 0-0 for the first two quarters of the game, JC fought to keep it tight, only allowing Landon to score three points in the third quarter.
Seeing this struggle, senior Alex Calicott stepped up, cheering with the fans to get the student section’s energy up.
Despite these efforts, Landon pulled away scoring two touchdowns in the final quarter, and the Patriots lost 17-0; however, many fans reported that it’s not the outcome of the game that matters. It’s more about memories and experiences.
The theme of “Back in Black” seemed to be very popular because every fan showed up accordingly. It became a sea of parents and students decked out in the school colors. The unique themes of the football games are always a favorite.
Regarding why they attended the football game, fans such as freshman Cassidy Gay said, “I was excited to get to meet new people, and the food trucks are always great.”
This is extremely important for the new freshman class. Students come to JC from a wide variety of different schools, so the football games are a great way for new students to socialize and get to know each other.
Sophomore Addison Weaver said her favorite part of the Friday Fall Fun Nights is “all of the people I get to see and the school spirit everyone shows.”
The home football games include a variety of food trucks such as Kona Ice which seems to be very popular. Students can get into the game free of charge with their JC student ID.
Friday Fall Fun Nights will continue at tonight’s football game with Sports Jersey Night and next Friday night with the annual Homecoming Game. There will also be a “Pink Out” for the girls soccer game on October 13.
This is the second year for Friday Fall Fun Nights.
