The Baltimore Ravens finished out their regular season on Saturday, January 6 in the Acrisure Stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Due to the Ravens’ number one seed ranking in the AFC North being secured and the outcome of the game not affecting their playoff position, they sat many key starters. This included wide receiver Odell Beckham and quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens fell short, losing this game 17-10.
Despite the loss, the Ravens ended their regular season with a 13-4 record. Not only did they finish first in the AFC North, but they clinched the AFC title as well for the first time since 2012.
Ravens superstar, tight end Mark Andrews had been on injury reserve with a severe ankle injury since week 11. However, he came back for the playoffs.
On Christmas Day, Baltimore and San Francisco fans huddled around the TV to watch one of the most anticipated regular-season games of the year. The 49ers had a comparable record to the Ravens, winning the NFC, making for a possible Super Bowl match-up. The Ravens were victorious 33-19.
The next stop for the Ravens was to defeat the Dolphins at M&T Bank Stadium. By beating the Miami Dolphins on New Year’s Eve 56-19, they clinched the AFC North title for the first time since 2019. This put the Ravens flock in a superb position going into the playoffs.
This awarded the team a by-week during the Wild Card weekend and getting to face their opponents on their home turf- M&T Bank Stadium.
The Ravens faced the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, January 28 for the AFC Championship but fell short 17-10 in front of a hometown crowd at M&T Bank Stadium. A high note later did come as Lamar Jackson won the MVP Award.
