One of the most exciting things that people look forward to when watching the Super Bowl is the halftime show.
The halftime show is a magnet for lots of viewers, especially when the singers preforming are a big hit during that time.
Usher, a singer who became popular in the late 90s, performed the halftime show for the 2024 Super-Bowl. During the half-time show, there were several surprise guests who came out and joined in on different songs that Usher was singing. These surprise singers included Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, H.E.R, and Ludacris.
The half-time show consisted of multiple costume changes, lots of dancing, and even roller skating all across the stage. Some of the songs that were played were “OMG,” “Yeah! “Burn,” and “My Boo.” Alicia Keys came out to sing “If I Ain’t Got You” as a duet with Usher.
Many adults really enjoyed Usher’s halftime show. This was because they enjoyed seeing an artist from a time when they were younger perform at the halftime show. People were posting their reviews on Twitter, with many people saying, “Finally a decent halftime show,” “Iconic,” “Early 2000s music hits different,” and “Great show!”
Some teenagers who were born after Usher became popular thought that the halftime show was okay or not as good because they did not know as many songs. Although it was very interesting, and fun to watch the half-time show, it was hard to enjoy, listening to music that many younger people barely knew. People who didn’t enjoy it posted on Twitter saying, “Usher would’ve been such a great half-time show in 2004,” “I’d rather have no half-time show than Usher,” “The Super Bowl lost 1.1 million viewers after Usher finished his halftime show,” or “At this point, these half-time shows have to be about someone owing money.”
Usher’s half-time show had a mix of different opinions, with people who enjoyed and didn’t enjoy the performance. Younger people mostly enjoy half-time shows with music more from this decade. Hopefully, next year, we will have an artist that teenagers can enjoy.
