Senior Ashley Snyder was the Opinion editor for The Patriot and was also a member of the chorus, part of the cast in musical productions at JC, a member of the Spanish Honors Society, and an AP Scholar.
According to collegeboard.com, AP Scholar Awards “are given to high school students who have demonstrated college level achievement through AP courses and exams.”
Snyder said that a favorite high school memory of hers was prom.
Snyder will be studying Communication Disorders as her major and Spanish as her minor at Auburn University. “As for goals for college, really just to keep my grades up and hopefully graduate from undergrad a year early . . . to make friends and have fun, and to be involved,” Snyder said.
Snyder feels no fear for moving onto college and says that she is “not afraid of the change.” However, Synder acknowledges that she will never forget her times spent at JC.
“I’m glad to move on with my life, but I’ll miss a lot of the good friends I made and teachers I had there [at JC]. And life won’t be quite the same without hearing ‘God is good, all the time!’ every day. I’m ready for a new phase in my life, but at the same time it’s weird to think about letting it go,” Snyder said.
Snyder will miss “seeing everyone that’s so familiar and the family feel of JC.”
