Some seniors go into college with no idea what they want to do, what their major will be, or even why they went there in the first place. This is not the case for one of JC’s seniors, Lindsay Powell.
In the 2011-2012 school year Powell will be a freshman at the University of Maryland to pursue a career in law. “I picked it because it’s a nice school which my brother attended and loved,” Powell said.
At the University of Maryland, she will also be studying English with a prelaw structure to her schedule. “I chose to study law because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” Powell said.
In her spare time when she is not studying to become a lawyer, she will be doing many different activities in order to get involved. She will be working at the challenge ropes course on campus, and, during her freshmen year, she will also be doing a study abroad program. “I’ll earn some college credit to study geography of Granada in the Caribbean with a group of about 10 other freshmen,” Powell said.
Despite her eagerness, she will still miss JC. “I’m really going to miss the teachers at John Carroll because every teacher had something to offer and a special way to connect with the students,” Powell said.
