Awkward family photos hidden under clipboards for the unsuspecting editor to find, seasonal decorations for the Patriot Room, and a party-planning committee are just a sample of the quirky things set up by none other than Taylor Schafer.
Schafer has served as Lifestyles editor on The Patriot for the past two years and has become one of the most hardworking editors The Patriot has ever seen. Even after winning her volleyball championships, she never let her success inflate her ego. Instead, she put her success to good use.
What kind of good use, you may ask? Good use such as laying out her print pages all by herself, writing stories, editing stories, and posting stories all at the same time.
As the saying goes, you work hard and play hard. On her free time, Schafer enjoys spending time outdoors. Having had her boating license since she was just 12 years old, Schafer spends as much time as she can on the open waters of Maryland, fishing and enjoying the fresh air.
When Schafer was not seen playing volleyball, boating, fishing, or posting stories, she could befound in “The Patriot” cave laughing with friends and printing out those infamous awkward family photos. Now that her time on the paper is over she will spend the next four years studying History and Educational Studies at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
Schafer as an editor and a friend made every day on The Patriot a little more special.
