Harry Potter is the official homecoming theme for 2016. The dance will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8 in the upper gym.

The official 2016 Homecoming theme is Harry Potter, which was decided by a survey sent to students via email. The Harry Potter theme beat the other choices of Under the Sea, Around the World, and Rainforest.

According to Student Government Association President senior Emma Gromacki, the hallways and upper gym will be adorned with magical decorations, and snacks will most likely be provided by the senior class.

However, students have mixed opinions about the outcome of the vote.

“I think it’s amazing. Even if you’re not into Harry Potter, it will be magical for everyone. The decorations will be fun, and it’s not like you have to dress up like that anyway,” Junior Class Vice President Nicole Kanaras said.

“I feel like all the nerdy people will be happy, but many people will be disappointed. I also feel like there is no way to decorate,” sophomore Laura Hojnacki said.

However, Gromacki claims that her main goal is to make everyone happy. “The whole idea is to make the decorations cool, even for people who don’t know or like Harry Potter,” Gromacki said.
