The John Carroll community, including students, faculty, and staff came out to say goodbye.
Amidst noise makers, claps, and cheers, the seniors walked through the congratulatory crowds lining the second-floor hallway.
The morning began for the seniors as they picked up their yearbooks when they entered the school building. Following their first two classes, an extended advisory was held so that the groups could say goodbye to their seniors.
After a Mod 4 departure from class, seniors moved to the Upper Gym for a Chick-fil-A lunch, some words from their class officers, and a slideshow of memories of their senior year.
The big surprise of the day for the seniors was their special farewell walk-through of the second floor.
Riley Baker said that her favorite part of the day was walking through the halls. “It is now a core memory.”
Students, faculty, and staff cheered the seniors on as they moved from the Upper Gym into the Academic Wing and down the Student Services Wing before passing the cafeteria and heading out the front door.
Ty Hensley said, “The sendoff was something I absolutely did not expect, it was so much fun and very rewarding after four years of hard work.”
Ava Freeland commented, “I loved when all the students and teachers cheered for us when we walked through. It was so cool to see everyone, and it was a really sweet send off.”
Seniors also had a special dress down day with their green shirts to show their class spirit.
Seniors returned the following morning in full uniform for their awards ceremony and graduation practice.
