Her record label didn’t want to release “Alejandro” (from the album The Fame Monster) to the radio in fear that fans wouldn’t like it, but Lady Gaga seems to be winning this battle.
“Alejandro,” Gaga’s seventh top twenty hit, has a catchy dance-pop tune to it, and it is basically a song about falling in love with a best friend.
Lady Gaga throws in a few Spanish lyrics here and there and a Latino accent to add some humor to the song. The song has a mid-tempo beat, and its “Ale-Alejandro” refrain will most likely get stuck in your head whether you want it to or not.
It is currently up to number twelve on iTunes’s top song list.
The song is influenced by the pop group ABBA and even references the name “Fernando,” one of the group’s classics. “Alejandro” also, in terms of melody, references Ace of Base’s hit “Don’t Turn Around.”
The song “Alejandro” is rising up on the charts and is worth a listen if you haven’t heard it yet and you are a fan of Lady Gaga’s music.
