The golf team finished its season with a record of 2-7.
“We had a lot of team unity,” coach Tony Del Puppo said. “It was all friendly competition.”
The team’s final match took place on May 7, in which it lost to Archbishop Curley by just one point. “[Winning] would have put us in the playoffs,” Del Puppo said.
“The player who won us the most points is [senior] Brian Matejevich,” Del Puppo said. According to Del Puppo, Matejevich “contributed the most” and “won a lot of points” for the team.
“The seniors did really well,” freshman golfer William Molali said. “Their presence will be missed.”
According to Del Puppo, the team’s greatest weakness of the year was in closing out their matches. Many of the games lost by JC were lost in the last few holes. Additionally, “putting was a weakness.”
Del Puppo still holds a positive outlook for next year’s team. “I think we can win the B Conference title.”
