Men’s volleyball

November 20, 2014

The men’s volleyball team finished their season with a 5-14 record.

“I wish we could have won more games,” said senior and co-captain Rawlison Zhang. “Overall, the team had fun and maintained a competitive attitude throughout the entire season.”

“While the record does not necessarily show it, the team was able to compete with anyone and everyone they stepped on the court against,” said varsity head coach Larry Hetzel. Hetzel is a graduate from the class of ‘05.

“[The] best parts of the season were when we had lots of people in the crowd. That is when we performed the best,” said senior and co-captain Tim Kutcher.

When comparing this season to the previous one, Zhang believes that “[the players] came together much better as a team, communicated better, and adapted to each other’s play style well.”

Hetzel feels confident in the team’s ability for next year.

“Next season will have a lot of fresh faces, as we are graduating eight seniors,” Hetzel said. “However, I have no doubt that the improvement in the program will continue.”

JV’s record was 5-12.
